A natural gas-based fertilizer complex in North India was having problems with its chemical dosing system. The plant was experiencing microbiological fouling issues which reduced the cooling system efficiency and necessitated downtime for cleanings. The root cause of these issues was identified as irregular chemical treatment by the semi-automated chemical dosing system.
